Be Our Special Guest at Mayor’s Summer Reading Club Intown Family Beach Party on Saturday July 16,2016 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM at Georgia State’s Outdoor Volleyball Courts (125 Decatur Street SW, Atlanta, GA. 30313)

This summer, Diversity in STEM Outreach Project Inc has partnered with The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club to promote literacy in children over the summer months.

MSRC will host the Intown Family Beach Party in partnership with Georgia State University and The Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS).

Why is reading over summer months important?

1)

Reading is essential to be successful in any career especially STEM. Research has shown a significant decrease in reading amongst children over summer months.

2)

Books can make great companions if we introduce it to children at an early age.

3)

To promote literacy as a part of life vs only during the school calendar year.

The Intown Beach Party will be a chance to meet other MSRC partners and supporters.
